Dear Bronco Family,
Wow!! 2011 is rapidly coming to a close. This is just a reminder that we have practice (shooting/conditioning) on this coming Friday (12/30/11) from 10:30-noon. It is not mandatory but I do want to encourage you to come and participate if possible. Then, on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, we will practice from 2:00-4:00pm unless notified differently.
Looking forward to a new year and finishing Basketball strong!! God bless you!!

Merry Christmas!!
Dear Bronco Family,
As you gather with family and friends during this Christmas season, I just want to say how much I enjoy working with these young men and the joy they bring to me. Thank you for the privilege and honor of coaching them. I pray that in the hecticness that is "christmas", you will be able to pause and gaze on the wonder that is CHRISTmas!! As Paul told us - He took upon Himself human flesh and became like us so that we might in Him become like Him. Or, as John records, "the Word became flesh and dwelt among us that we might behold His glory." He was literally born to die. But in that death - death on a cross - He substituted His life for mine and gained me eternal life. Oh, how grateful I am - talk about your "peace" on earth!!
Regarding basketball - we play the day we come back on the 3rd of January. So, here's the schedule for practice. On Friday, Dec. 30th, we will meet at the gym at 10:30am and go to noon. (This is not mandatory - we will shoot and scrimmage some and for those who do come, we will also do some light conditioning). After the "practice", anyone who wants to, we will break pizza together at Cici's on Hwy. 646 and 45. This will be for fellowship - again, this is not mandatory. (for parents and athletes). Then, on Monday, Jan. 2nd, we will practice but I will have to get back with you on the times.
Until then, have a blessed and merry Christmas and if I don't see you on that Friday, have a great start to a New Year!!

Coach Tracy Don Holcomb

This Week
Hey Bronco Fans,
It was an interesting weekend at Fort Bend. A group of young men impersonated our guys - they were not as good as the team I had. It took me awhile to figure it out but that is the only explanation I could come up with!! Seriously though - the boys just seemed distracted or something and I guess that happens - hopefully they were thinking about their finals this week. But, we did win two games to move our season record to 10-2. I couldn't be prouder of these guys; especially the way they played the second game on Saturday. That is the team I know - they hustled and were aggressive and played well together. So for that I say - way to go Broncos!!
Remember, Thursday we play AT St. Mary's at 5:30pm. Directions should be on the BACS website. We will be wearing our blue uniforms. *UPDATE* Hopefully, we will be wearing our new shooting shirts on Thursday night. Should be in Thursday during the day. Only 1 player has not payed yet. That is great!!
Well, I will see you Thursday. God bless you!

Tournament
Hey Parents,
Well, tomorrow starts the tournament. We will be playing in the south gym at 3:30 and at 6:00pm. In the 3:30 game, we will be visitors and will be wearing blue and then at 6:00pm, we will be home team and will be wearing white. We will be leaving the school at approx. no later than 2:15pm. The lady Broncos will be traveling with us as well and they play at 4:45pm and 7:15pm. Be sure you send them with a little extra money for concessions/snack between games and/or after. Since we have to stay (or I do, since I drive), if you want to take your boys home after the 6:00 game, I understand. Just be sure you check in with me before you leave. If your boy is going to stay, be sure he brings some extra cash for we might make a quick stop before we head back (snack/drink) or for the concession stands.
For Saturday, we will play at 9:00am for sure and will be blue. Our 2nd game we will be wearing white regardless. The earliest we will play our championship round game will be 2:00pm with the latest (Championship Game) to be played at 5:45pm. This is where I am planning on being on Saturday. All of this is dependent on how we do in the pool round. We will talk after the 6:00 game tomorrow about how we want to handle Saturday - travel, etc.
In game 1, we play St. Mark's Lutheran and then at 6:00pm we play HCYA. On Saturday, at nine, we play Fort Bend Christian.
I hope this helps. FYI: I have a special treat for the boys - I found one extra (old) shooting shirt so we will be able to wear for this tournament, the school's old ones. Hopefully, our new ones will be in next week for our last game before the break.
Seeking your Joy,
Coach Tracy Don Holcomb

This Weekend and Fan Shirts
Hey Bronco Fans,
Our fan t-shirts are in!! They look great. If you have not paid, please do so asap so that Ms. Grigsby can get all of the shirts out and paid for. Also, if you have not paid for the shooting shirts, please do so ASAP.
REMINDER: Since this Thursday is game day, the boys will wear their shirt and ties to school. We play at 3:30 and 6:00pm Thursday night in the Fort Bend Tourney. I am trying to figure out how to post the tournament schedule. So know that as for Thursday, this is when we play. Then for sure, we will play at 9:00am on Saturday morning. When we play after that will be dependent on what we do in these first three games. I'll let you know what uniforms to wear as well.

Pictures
Hey Bronco Fans,
Just a couple of housekeeping items for us. First of all, we are taking our team pictures on Monday. You should have gotten an order form at the game last night. I will send some home tonight with the boys. We will be wearing our white uniforms on Monday for the pictures.
Regarding our shooting shirts - majority of parents have paid but we still have a few that have not. Please get that in asap. We should get them after the 15th. I'm excited for the boys about this.
One more thing: a parent graciously provided a light snack for the boys last night - a couple of meat snack trays and a fruit tray. I would ask that if you are going to do that or would like to, that a couple of you parents be responsible to serve that. We can meet in the war room to do that.
Broncos are 8-0!! Great start!! Remember - practice tomorrow from 3:00-5:00pm.

New Family Member
Hey Bronco Family,
You will see a new face tonight on the sideline with us. 7th grader Asher Toney will be joining us as our Team Manager/Alternate (in case someone gets hurt). He has already started practicing with us and he will be learning how to do the books for us which will allow Ms. Grigsby to watch the game. Pray that he will learn it quickly.
Also, if you could help do the clock tonight during our game (5:30pm), send me an email at tholcomb@bacschool.org. Thanks! May you grow today in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!!
